5 to 15-year olds that are eligible can apply for a Disabled Persons Railcard. While the Railcard doesn't offer discounts on child fares, it will allow one person travelling with the cardholder to get 1/3 off most rail fares.

It's easy to have an affordable day out with the kids – buy one valid adult ticket on Southeastern services and take up to four children with you for £1 each.
Offer valid on off-peak journeys all year round.
You can buy Kids for a Quid Tickets online or at any of our ticket offices, or when also buying an adult ticket online or from a ticket machine.
Under 5's go free and tickets cost £1 for children aged 5-15 when travelling with an adult with a valid ticket.
As they are already a real bargain, Kids for a Quid Tickets can't be further discounted with railcards, or used on journeys wholly within London Zones 1-9.

Red Funnel's Assisted Fares Scheme offers Isle of Wight residents who are receiving eligible benefits to travel with a car for a maximum fixed price of £59.10 return (or 20% off their lowest standard web fares if cheaper).
A fixed fare of £12.30 return is also available for travel as a foot passenger between East Cowes and Southampton.
